History: Andretti Autosport started life in Indianapolis USA, when the legend racing driver Michael Andretti from the IndyCar series and Green Racing were joined as one team known as Andretti Green Racing. Under this team name they enjoyed many wins and led laps.
Whilst they had begun and to this current day, the Andretti team has had 50 IndyCar wins and 24 light IndyCar wins. This has also led to three IndyCar series titles and a second Indianapolis 500 win.
As far as a racing team goes you'll be hard to find a better pedigreed racing family and brand. With the Andretti Racing Team winning four IndyCar Series championships in 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2012. The same goes for winning the light IndyCar Series twice in 2008 and 2009 and the Mazda Pro Championship being won in 2013. In 2009 the won the USF2000 while also winning the Indianapolis 500 three times in 2005, 2007 and 2014.
Andretti Autosport can now be seen in many racing categories such as IndyCar, Pro Mazda, Indy Lights, Global Rallycross with Volkswagen and also the electric car racing series Formula E.
Andretti now races in the Formula E series whilst racing alongside Dragon Racing. The big question is that can they bring that winning formula to the biggest electric car racing series in the world, we suppose only time will tell…..

History: In 1996 Johann Abt founded a blacksmiths shop in Kempten, Germany. Fast forward to 1950 the grandson of Johann Abt had his first race on the Kempton grass track whereby he won more than 300 motorsport wins.
In 1967 ABT Tuning was founded with the Abrath. In 1978 the ABT Tuning race team launched themselves into the VW Golf racing series, from this ABT turned into one of the leading car-tuning companies with triumphs at the Trophée L’Avenir Touring Car Series.
Fast forward to the 1990’s Abt founded the ABT Sportsline GMBH. ABT Sportsline won the 1991 Formula Junior title and in 1992, 1999 they become champions in the Formula 3 series.
In the 2000’s the ABT racing team managed to progress into many series from Formula 3, DTM series, Rallying and much more. In 2009 they won a third DTM title and this was their most successful year. Also in 2009 the son of the owner Daniel Abt took on the challenge of racing for the ABT Sportsline team taking over from his father who is now the Team Principal ( Hans-Jürgen Abt)
In 2010 Daniel went to the German Formula 3 series whereby he had a great season and finished second. After ABT finished the GP3 Racing series as runners up in 2012, the son of the teams Principal Daniel signed a contract with Lotus to race in the GP2 series.
During 2014 the ABT Sportsline team entered the world’s best electric car racing series Formula E.

History: The e.dams Renault has some of the biggest names in motorsport racing behind them, the co-founders Jean-Paul Driot and the world-famous Formula One legend Alain Prost. The team itself is relatively new and was specifically developed for the electric car motorsport Series Formula E alongside the French giants Renault.
Due to the newly founded Formula E team being set up by the four times world champion Alain Prost and John-Paul Driot having over 25 years’ experience in numerous sectors of motorsport from F 3000, A1GP, GP2 and Formula Renault 3.5, the experience and foundation from which this team is built has and will give it a great start in this brand-new racing series.
The reason for e.dams Renault wanting to enter Formula E is due to their love and passion of motorsport and the necessity to develop a more sustainable and environmentally friendly approach to motorsport. They also wish to spread the word, improve technology and to encourage a new, younger and wider public audience for Formula E and the environment.

History: Mahindra Racing are no strangers to the racetrack, they are currently the only Indian manufacture to compete in the FIM Moto GP Motorcycle Racing Championship as well as, their involvement in the electric car racing series Formula E.
Mahindra Racing is already in the development and production stage for electric vehicles in India. They bring a lot of knowledge, infrastructure, technology and knowhow to the sport.
The Mahindra Racing is the only Indian Formula E team to be established in Formula E, they was also one of the eighth Motor racing experts to sign up to Formula E once it had been launched.
There is an investment from the Mahindra Racing team to join the electric car sport but with the knowledge of electric vehicles already we feel that they might be one step ahead of everyone else, especially when teams can develop their own formula e racing cars in future seasons? We’ll just have to wait and see what the Mahindra Racing team can bring to the electric racing series.

History: The Trulli Formula E team is powered by the French giants Renault. The co-founder Jarno Trulli is no stranger to motorsport. Jarno Trulli has become one of the most experienced drivers in the history of Formula 1 by competing in 256 Grand Prix’s which actually places him fifth on the all-time entry list.
The team was founded by Jarno Trulli and Francesco Guarnieri, they decided to bring the Trulli Team into this new great electric motorsport when they got the opportunity to enter it in 2013.
The Trulli Team aims to learn from this motorsport and aid in the development of a new future of technologies such as wireless charging, longer battery life, a greater range and much more.
Due to the co-founder being one of the greats in Formula 1 we have no doubt that the TrulliTeam is going to be very competitive in the Formula E motorsport calendar.

History: Venturi has been set up by the world-famous Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio and Gildo Pallanca Pastor both with a vision and passion for all things electric car based. Gildo Pallanca Pastor is no stranger to Electric vehicles as he is the founder of the EV manufacturer Venturi.
Venturi Automobiles are a world leader in the high-performance development of electric vehicles, they have these vehicles in a range of different sports from urban to all-terrain. They are also no stranger to electric car speed, as they are the current holders of their Electric Car World land speed record which is now set at 370 mph.
So with the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and one of the top electric manufacturers behind this team they are set to be onto a winner.

History: The Virgin Racing Team is no stranger to technology, alongside the innovator Sir Richard Branson they look to create a far better means of transport for the planet.
The Virgin Formula E Racing Team was put together when the FIA first announced the new racing series, due to Sir Richard Branston's love for technology and also knowing the need for sustainability, he along with other members of his team could not afford not to be part of this new racing series.
Just like the Virgin Brand has gone into other forms of technologies, from taking the first passengers up to the outer edges of the earth’s atmosphere, breaking world records in hot air balloons and water speed records. The Virgin Group will bring a lot of technological development to the Virgin Racing Team.
Virgin Racing Formula E Team is a new team but that won't hold them up. As along with the established drivers, they have a very experienced team principal Alex Tai. We are sure they are destined for lots of success in the formula E world series.
