The new SsangYong Tivoli will emit just 113g/km in diesel form, the company has announced today, along with full pricing and specification details. The Nissan Juke-rivalling Tivoli range starts from just £12,950 and will arrive in June with a choice of two engines (petrol or diesel), two gearboxes and three trim levels.

One petrol and one diesel engine will be available, both with a capacity of 1.6-litres. The petrol engine produces 126bhp whilst the diesel produces 113bhp. Both engines are mated to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, with power delivered through the front wheels. The petrol emits 149g/km of CO2 and returns 44.1mpg on the combined cycle with the manual ‘box and 167g/km and 39.2mpg respectively with the auto. The more efficient diesel emits just 113g/km of CO2, but the company hasn’t provided a fuel consumption figure.

Entry-level SE models come with grey cloth upholstery, 16-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, the ability for the driver to adjust the steering using ‘Comfort’, ‘Normal’ or ‘Sport’ settings, Bluetooth connectivity and seven airbags.

Mid-range EX models add the choice of grey or beige seating, larger 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control and a seven-inch colour touchscreen with a rear view camera. In addition, there are heated front seats, fog lamps and a load cover. EX models also have the option of a six-speed automatic gearbox, at a cost of £1,000. Diesel-powered versions of the EX trim can also be ordered with all-wheel drive (available only with the manual gearbox) for a premium of £1,250.

Range-topping ELX models offer a full choice of two or all-wheel drive spanning both petrol and diesel, or with manual or automatic transmissions. They also get 18-inch wheels but come with an expensive looking diamond cut finish, keyless ignition, front and rear parking sensors, privacy glass, a rear spoiler, auto lights full leather trim and TomTom satellite navigation. Prices range from £16,000 to £19,500.

In a first for the company, SsangYong has introduced a ‘My Tivoli’ personalisation programme that will appeal to those familiar with the Fiat 500 or DS3.

A contrasting roof combination can be purchased as part of the £400 Styling Pack whilst a red leather interior pack costs £350.

Paul Williams, chief executive of SsangYong UK, told EcoCars4Sale: “This is a car that will really put SsangYong on the map and change brand perceptions.”

All Tivoli’s come with the Korean company’s five-year unlimited mileage warranty. Order books are open for both engine formats with deliveries of the petrol models starting in June and diesel models coming on stream from August.
