Renault’s Captur gets new flagship model

It may be hard to believe, but it is more than a year since Renault first introduced its Captur compact SUV to wide acclaim. Timely then for Renault to decide to introduce a new flagship model that allows the company to make more of a profit on each model sold. Dubbed the Renault Captur Signature, the new model gets an enhanced equipment specification and costs from £17,495.

Buyers have a choice of engines, including a 0.9-litre TCe 90 petrol (£17,495), 0.9-litre TCe 120 (£19,695), dCi 90 (£18,895) or dCi 90 with an automatic gearbox (£19,895).

The Captur Signature can be identified from lesser models in its range by the unique 17-inch alloy wheels, a choice of six two-tone paint combinations and a smattering of chrome detail adorning the body.

Inside, it gets part leather trim, splashes of red detailing on the centre console and air vents, and ‘Signature’ inscribed sill plates and mats. In addition, it comes with Renault’s R-Link infotainment system which contains a 7-inch touchscreen, satellite navigation, USB ports, uprated stereo with 3D sound, rear parking camera and sensors, and Renault’s Grip Xtend, an enhanced form of traction control system designed to offer more traction in slippery conditions and some minor off-road ability.

The new addition to the Renault Captur range is now available in Renault’s UK dealer network.

The Capture is the second best-selling model in the French company’s line-up.
